UN Testing Laboratory
Working
alongside the design & technical development teams,
the UK laboratory based at Woburn Sands test new products
to ensure they fulfil all of the performance criteria
expected.
The ongoing development of a wide range of generic
products over many years for use in a diverse range
of applications has built up an extensive database of
information that is used in the development of individual,
custom designed products.
The laboratory is also UKAS accredited which
allows us to conduct UN performance tests on our
packs and send the test report to PIRA (Randalls
Road, Leatherhead, Surrey KT22 7RU), who issue
Package Certificates on behalf of the Dept of
Transport. This enables us to offer this as a
service to our customers who need their packs
UN certified for the carriage of Dangerous Goods.
This
is all supported by Nampak's internationally renowned
Research and Development Centre in South Africa.
Founded in 1946 and now comprising 9 laboratories,
the R&D centre has substantial expertise in
a diverse range of subjects ranging from scientific
research through to product application.
Services include, microbiological and shelf life evaluation,
advice on decorative & protective coatings and materials
evaluation and specification. It is this facility that
helps keep the Nampak group at the leading edge of current
technology and trends.
